A House for Brad

So, in just under 16 hours I will begin the long daunting task of confronting a stack of paperwork that will ultimately end in me giving up a lot of money and in return being the owner of a brand new-ish (not so new-ish just thought that sounded fun) home!!

Everything is set, just have to go get my cashiers check for closing and make sure I'm good a rested to sign my name a billion times. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. Excited!!

Will update later today.

Welcome to the real world

Does anyone really use cash out there anymore. It has been so long
since I took out cash to make a purchase. Well, my good friend daniel
has always been the ONE person in our little group that was the cash
person. Everyone else uses debit cards for purchases. After many times
of making fun of him, he decided to actually use his bank account and
get a debit card. I had the honor of being there for the first
purchase with his brand new check card! My first question when he took
it out, "did you remember to activate it." to which I got a snarky "i
even put money in the account.". Oh well... Good job man!

Twitter

I am very much an avid Twitter-er (can you add er to the end of a word like that??) and apparently they are across the pond as well. By the looks of it, people enjoy Tweeting so much that even in the event of a fire people would pull out their mobile devices to say "I'm just here at the building fire enjoying. Laser tag later anyone? retweet if you want to." It mentions the fire brigade which is why I assume this is over in England or Europe or where ever they say that. So, would you twitter about the fire as you leave the building? I can't say I wouldn't now that I think about it. Really would depend on how serious it was, Tweet on the way, or tweet outside.

Alternate comments:
Discover a fire. Just walking through the hall and oh, look a fire in the corner, let me tweet about it.
Attack the fire? Really!?!
There is an explanation of what a fire alarm is. "(continuous ringing bell)" WOW!

Fight Club

There is a great movie out there called Fight Club. I found this little graph that concerned me a little bit. In an effort to correct this I shall now educate you all on the rules of fight club.

1st RULE: You do not talk about FIGHT CLUB.
2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about FIGHT CLUB.
3rd RULE: If someone says "stop" or goes limp, taps out the fight is over.
4th RULE: Only two guys to a fight.
5th RULE: One fight at a time.
6th RULE: No shirts, no shoes.
7th RULE: Fights will go on as long as they have to.
8th RULE: If this is your first night at FIGHT CLUB, you HAVE to fight.

Watch the movie. It is awesome. Be sure to remember the rules... you may just one day end up in a Fight Club. Obviously you will never be able to tell anyone about it though.

Birthdays, Baby Boy, Contract

This has been a very birthday filled week. It started last Saturday with the 2 year anniversary of Journey Church. Had a great weekend there as we started a new series called One Prayer. We have joined a ton of other churches all over the world in this series as we all go through the same or similar topics and see the amazing things that can happen. Currently there are 1836 churches participating in this. Last year there were a over 600 church planted and thousands of people accepted Christ as a result. Then we came across my Mom's birthday on Monday, which we celebrated on Sunday night at Ichiro; delicious. Wednesday was Devin's birthday which brought some good news: on to baby boy portion.

Devin and Erin are having a boy if you haven't already heard. It's exciting stuff. Head over to Erin's Blog to take a look at the sonogram. It is a really cool little video, which I just happen to have edited. :)

I got this news as I was on my way to sign some papers. I am in the process of buying a house and I went to sign the contract for the initial offer on the house (this is the contract part). After some back and forth over the next few days we finally settled on details and a price. Today was the inspection which went very well. Only a few things that need to be fixed, no biggie. Tomorrow I go to get the financing finalized. I am super duper excited and a little nervous all at the same time. I have never lived by myself and it is a lot of responsibility, but I can't wait to get in there. Hopefully everything will continue to go smoothly through the rest of the process and this will be the house I end up with. I shall keep you posted.

Enjoy the day everyone!!

Happy birthday Mom and Devin!

Nerd time

If you know me, I am a bit of a nerd. No comments from my sister please on that subject. You will also know that I am not the largest fan of Windows, although it does have its advantages. This is mostly for Devin and everyone out there who I tell, please please please please please download Firefox and use that instead of Internet Explorer. I love Firefox, I even use it on my Mac over Safari. I found this little pie chart of all the great uses for Internet Explorer to further illustrate my point. (Devin you would be the reason that little green sliver is on there)

I took a sabbatical

It seems as though I have taken a sabbatical from the blog. Come on, lets be honest though, it is really hard to be awesome in my everyday life then to come home and be awesome in blog format. Like I said though, I am rested and re-awesomed. I know what your thinking, and it's true, "Brad, you can never run out of awesome." Oh how correct you are.

Well, here is the rekick off story. I was walking around downtown with my bro, Daniel, and came across something that I have not seen in quite some time. These items used to be commonplace, but I get confused when I see them now. It was right next the the little museum that chills by the fountain. My thought is that it is really a part of that. You know, a relic from the past. I don't know when the last time I saw one of these used. I'm not even sure what it is used for anymore, no less how I would go about engaging it in operation units.

Thoughts??

P.S. The aforementioned bro, Daniel, has entered the blogging community. Hopefully he will do better than the one post that Derrick made. My apologies. Welcome Daniel, sorry I didn't get this up there sooner!!
